Market turnover was Rs.861Mn, 37% increase from Rs.628mn recorded on the previous trading day.
Highest contributions to the turnover came from Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka, National Development Bank PLC and Vallibel Finance PLC of Rs.179Mn, Rs.26Mn and Rs.21Mn turnover respectively.
Overall, Market was dominated by local investors with participating to 79% of the turnover. However, locals were net buyers of 460Mn worth of shares while foreigners were net sellers of Rs.460Mn worth of shares.
The aggregate value of total crossings transactions amounted to Rs.390Mn which was a contribution of 45% to the daily turnover.
John Keels Holdings PLC of Rs.90Mn worth of shares changed hands at Rs.200.00 per share while Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka crossed hands at Rs.270.00 per share with a quantity worth of Rs.35Mn on the crossings board.
Moreover, on the Banking & Finance sector Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC with a quantity worth of Rs.265Mn crossed hands at Rs.161.00 per share contributing to 31% of the daily turnover.
Nation Lanka Finance PLC and Vallibel Finance PLC attracted retail investor appetite with recording highest number of trades of 760 and 200 during the day.
Moreover, Top gainers list was led by Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC with 20.00% return for the day and closed Rs.0.10 higher at Rs.0.60. Meanwhile, top decliners list was led by Nation Lanka Finance PLC with 20.59% price deprecation and closed Rs.0.70 lower at Rs.2.70.
