Daily turnover was Rs.861mn, an increase of 18% compared to previous trading day. Highest contributions to the turnover came from John Keels Holdings PLC, Seylan Bank PLC (non-voting) with Rs.55mn, Rs.31mn and Rs.31mn turnover respectively.
Overall, Market was dominated by local investors with participating to 85% of the turnover. However locals were net buyers, while foreigners net sellers of Rs.259mn.
The aggregate value of all off-the-floor deals represented 53% of the daily turnover with four quantities of four companies recorded block trades during the day.
On the diversified sector, John Keels Holdings PLC quantity worth of Rs.217mn changed hands at Rs.193.00 per share. On the Banking & Finance sector, a quantity worth of 127mn of Sampath Bank PLC crossed hands at Rs.253.00 per share while Hatton National Bank PLC crossed hands at Rs.219 per share with a quantity worth of Rs.44mn.
Moreover, on the Food & Beverage sector, Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka crossed hands at Rs.270.00 per share with a quantity worth of Rs.70mn on the crossings board.
Retail interest was upon Nation Lanka Finance PLC and Softlogic Capital PLC with recording highest number of trades of 366 and 338 trades respectively.
Top gainers list was led by SMB Leasing PLC with 33.33% return for the day and closed Rs.0.10 higher at Rs.0.40 Meanwhile top decliners list was led by Entrust Securities PLC 9.58% price depreciation and closed Rs.3.40 lower at Rs.32.10.
