LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 2 July 2015

Focus: Market closed with negative returns for the second consecutive day with main index declined by 38 points to close at 6983. Turnover was LKR 435 Mn, low compared with the previous trading day. PLC became the highest contributor to the turnover followed by HHL, AEL and CTC. HHL also recorded a single crossing at LKR 82 contributing 13% to the market turnover. Retail investor interest was witnessed in AEL following the announcement of the investments in Horizon Holdings Ventures (Pvt) Ltd & Horizon Holdings (Pvt) Ltd while the counter gained 1.26% to close at LKR 24.10. Meanwhile CLC announced to issue 50 Mn rated, senior, unsecured, redeemable debentures at an issue price of LKR 100 each.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was down by 0.76%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 18 Mn.
