SMB Securities Mid-Week Watch 03 June 2015

The stock market showed a slow movement with a gradual decline in the indices over the past week. However the overall performance over the week generated a total turnover of LKR 4.34 bn.

The ASPI declined by 104.04 points and closed at 7,149.46, while the S&P SL20 declined by 69.84 pointo to close at 3,961.02.

The foreign purchases experienced a 60% growth from LKR 143.77 mn to LKR 230.67mn over the week while the foreign sales improved by 21% from LKR 328.53 mn to LKR 398.72 mn. The week witnessed a net foreign
outflow of LKR 672 mn.

The banking and Finance sector was the best performing sector contributing 39% to the total turnover, closely followed by manufacturing sector and diversified holding sector contributing 27% and 12% respectively to the total turnover.
