Colombo Stock Exchange traded on a negative note with All Share Price
Index closing 16.08 lower at 7,273.69, 0.22% down while S&P SL20 closed
4.89 lower to close at 4,068.63, 0.12% down.
Daily turnover crossed Rs.1bn mark to Rs.1.67bn, a drop of 22% compared
to previous trading day. Highest contributions to the turnover came from
Seylan Bank PLC (Non Voting), Lanka Walltiles PLC and Commercial Bank
of Ceylon PLC with Rs.117mn, Rs.66mn and Rs.63mn turnover respectively.
Overall, Market was dominated by local investors with participating to 86%
of the turnover. However locals were net buyers, while foreigners net sellers
of Rs.64mn extending year to date net inflow to Rs.6.0bn.
The aggregate value of all off-the-floor deals represented 30% of the daily
turnover with seven quantities of seven companies recorded block trades
during the day.
