The bourse ends on an encouraging note, retail
participation remains sound pushing the benchmark
index higher towards the 7,300 level!!!
The day ended on a mixed note with the benchmark ASPI
managing to breathe in the green terrain at 7,288.74,
gaining 15.05 points (or 0.21%). The S&P SL20 ended
marginally lower at 4,067.14 having dropped by 1.49 points
or 0.04%. The total market capitalization as at the day’s
closure amounted to LKR 3.10Tn, which the year to date
loss to 0.28%. The market PER and PBV stood at 19.63x and
2.12x respectively. The day’s aggregated turnover
amounted to record LKR 904.58Mn indicating a dip of
46.12% from its previous day; the three prime contributors
for the day SEYB.X, NEST & DIAL accounted to a share of
24.08% of the daily aggregated turnover. Retail interest
was strong on several fundamentally sound counters such
as Alufab PLC (+17.05%), Alumex PLC (+5.17%), Lanka Orix
Leasing Company PLC (+2.18%) and Sanasa Development
Bank PLC (+1.96%) which managed to reach fresh 52 week
apex levels at LKR 45.90/-, LKR 18.60/-, LKR 110.50/- and
156.70/- respectively whilst ending with noteworthy gains
