Navara Daily Market Insights 21st June 2015

Colombo Stock Exchange traded on a negative note with All Share Price Index closing 2.27 lower at 7,145.59, 0.03% down while S&P SL20 closed 12.55 down to close at 3,994.97, 0.31% down.

Daily turnover was Rs.335Mn, a drop of 48% compared to the recorded turnover of Rs.647Mn on the previous trading day.

Highest contributions to the turnover came from Textured Jersey Lanka PLC, Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC and LB Finance PLC with Rs.32Mn, Rs.23Mn and Rs.20Mn turnover respectively.

Overall, Market was dominated by local investors with participating to 87% of the turnover. However locals were net sellers, while foreigners were net buyers of Rs.28mn worth of shares.

Retail interest was upon Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC and John Keels Holdings PLC- Warrant 22 with recording highest number of trades of 631 and 383 trades respectively.

Top gainers list was led by SMB Leasing PLC- (non-voting) with 25.00% return for the day and closed Rs.0.10 higher at Rs.0.50. Meanwhile top decliners list was led by Kegalle Plantations PLC with 36.18% price deprecation and closed Rs.48.70 lower at Rs.85.90.
