LOLC Securities Market Watch: Weekly 15 July 2015

Market started the week on a positive note and managed to close in the green zone despite the profit taking took place during the mid of the week. Highest turnover was recorded on Tuesday while foreign investors turned to be net buyers on Friday after several sessions with net foreign outflows.

Thirty Seven crossings were recorded during the week while COMB accounted for nine out of them.

Bank, Finance and Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while power and Energy sector became the highest gainer(+6.60%).

DIAL, NEST and DIST lifted up the ASPI by 31.50 points while HHL dragged down the index by around 2.87 points. ASPI and S&P SL20 up by 91 points and 52 points respectively.

Rupee increased during the week and closed at LKR 133.93 per USD. One year T-bill rate increased and closed at 6.53%. Gold prices increased and closed at 1,117.85$/Oz while oil prices depreciated to close at 42.47$/Barrel
