LOLC Securities Market Watch: Weekly 18 September 2015

Bourse closed the week with a negative sentiment recording losses for the fourth consecutive day while weakening LKR, uncertainty related to hike in US interest rates and UNHRC session made the investors remain cautious over the market through out the week .Highest turnover was recorded on Wednesday with lowest was recorded on Friday. Foreign investors were net buyers for most of the days of the week. Bank Finance and Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while Services sector became the highest gainer (+9.04%). SLTL, TRAN and HNB lifted up the ASPI by 12.75 points while LOLC dragged down the index by around 7.82 points. ASPI and S&P SL20 down by 46 points and 29 points respectively. Rupee depreciated during the week and closed at LKR 140.55 per USD.
One year T-bill rate closed flat at 7.17%. Gold prices increased to close at 1,137.04$/Oz while oil prices increased to close at 46.28$/Barrel
