Bourse continued to remain volatile with gains and losses in indices. However during the week high level of activity level was witnessed as turnover surpassed 1 Bn mark for four consecutive days except on Friday. Foreign investors were net sellers for most of the days of the week. Thirty Seven crossings were recorded during the week .Bank, Finance and Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while IT sector became the highest gainer(+4.06%).LOLC, BREW and LION lifted up the ASPI by 27.82 points while LIOC dragged down the index by around 9.40 points. ASPI and S&P SL20 up by 30.07 points and 16.46 points respectively. Rupee depreciated during the week, and closed at LKR 133.75 per USD. T-bill rate decreased during the week as 1 year T-bill rate closed at 6.67%. Gold prices depreciated and closed at 1,206.21$/Oz while oil prices closed flat at 59.72$/Barrel.
