LOLC Securities Market Watch: Weekly 28 August 2015

Despite gains and losses witnessed during the week bourse managed to close the week in the green zone. Highest turnover was recorded on Monday due to crossings took place pertaining to TAP while lowest turnover was recorded on Friday. Meanwhile foreign investors were net sellers through out the week while selling off risky assets on fears of a China led global economic slow down.

Diversified sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while Power and Energy sector became the highest gainer(+1.89%).

SLTL, LIOC and CLC lifted up the ASPI by 13.03 points while JKH dragged down the index by around 15.78 points. ASPI and S&P SL20 down by 120 points and 92 points respectively.

Rupee depreciated during the week and closed at LKR 134.13 per USD. One year T-bill rate increased and closed at 6.88%. Gold prices decreased to closed at 1,125.83$/Oz while oil prices increased to close at 42.42$/Barrel.
