LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 28 August 2015

Focus: During the day, ASPI was up by 33 points and S&P SL20 was up by 23 points. Market recorded a turnover worth of LKR 1.4 Bn with counters such as JKH, DIAL and PLC contributed positively to uplift the main index. JKH became the highest contributor to the turnover while recording several crossings and contributing LKR 528 Mn to the market turnover. Price of the counter gained by LKR 2.90 to close at LKR 178. Hefty crossings took place today represented 63% of the market turnover. Foreign investors continued to be net sellers with a net foreign outflow of LKR 457 Mn with net foreign selling seen in JKH, COMB, LIOC, TKYO.X. Meanwhile CPRT announced issue of 25,007 shares by way of a right issue at a price of LKR 1200 per share. Funds from the right issue will be utilized to invest in the expansion and the upgrading of company's printing packaging facilities.

§ Diversified Holdings sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 0.78%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 457 Mn.
