Focus: During the day, ASPI was up by 77 points and S&P SL20 was up by 58 points. Market recorded a turnover worth of LKR 1.0 Bn with counters such as JKH, CTC and HNB contributed by 30.04 points to uplift the main index. LIOC became the highest contributor to the turnover while counter gained by LKR 2.60 to close at LKR 43.50. ASIR and CTC recorded crossings for the day while total crossings represented only 11% of the market turnover. Foreign investors were net sellers recording a net outflow of LKR 176 Mn with net foreign selling seen in DIST. Meanwhile DFCC announced that shareholders approved the proposed amalgamation of DFCC and DFCC Vardhana Bank PLC by a special resolution passed at the EGM

§ Beverage Food & Tobacco sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 0.67%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 176 Mn.
