LOLC Securities Market Watch: Weekly 29 May 2015

Bourse started and closed the weekly operations on a negative note although turnover levels recorded above LKR 1 Bn for four consecutive days. Foreign investors were net sellers for most of the days of the week with foreign selling was mainly seen in COMB and JKH.

Twenty four crossings were recorded during the while COMB accounted for thirteen out of them. Bank, Finance and Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while motor sector became the highest gainer(+2.95%). CCS, LOLC and GOOD lifted up the ASPI by 16.64 points while CTC dragged down the index by around 17.56 points. ASPI and S&P SL20 up by 68.45 points and 66.47 points respectively.

Rupee appreciated during the week, and closed at LKR 133.01 per USD. T-bill rate decreased during the week as 1 year T-bill rate closed at 6.62%. Gold prices depreciated and closed at 1,190.54$/Oz while oil prices closed flat at 58.44$/Barrel.
