LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 14 August 2015

Focus: During the day, ASPI was up by 20 points and S&P SL20 was up by 21 points. Market recorded a turnover worth of LKR 1.2 Bn with counters such as COMB, LOLC and LIOC contributed 14.71 points to uplift the main index. HHL became the highest contributor to the turnover while recording three crossing at LKR 94 and contributing total of LKR 147 Mn to the market turnover. Further CFIN recorded a single crossing at LKR 275 while total crossings of the day represented only 8% of the market turnover. Foreign investors were net buyers recording a net foreign inflow of LKR 114 Mn with net foreign buying mainly seen in HHL and TJL. Foreign selling was seen in LIOC. Meanwhile HPWR announced that special resolution to approve the reduction of stated capital and special resolution to approve the payment of consideration for repurchase of shares in terms of section 56 and section 185 of the companies act were duly passed by shareholders today.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 0.8%.

§ Foreign investors were in a buying sentiment, while the net foreign inflows amounted to LKR 114 Mn.
