Focus: Bourse closed the weekly operations in the red zone continuing the bearish momentum. However turnover improved to LKR 861 Mn compared with the previous trading day .COMB, DIST and JKH recorded crossings for the day while total crossings contributed 45% to the market turnover. Meanwhile BIL announced that it acquired the balance of 49% of the shareholding of Ajax Engineers (pvt) Ltd for a consideration of LKR 100 Mn and accordingly Ajax Engineers (pvt) Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of BIL. Further CSF announced to issue 502 Mn shares by way of a right issue in proportion of 2 shares for every 1 shares held.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 0.29%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 461 Mn.
