LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 21 September 2015

Focus: During the day, ASPI was down by 4 points and S&P SL20 was down by 5 points. Market recorded a turnover worth of LKR 667 Mn while counters such as HHL, DIST and COMB dragged the main index by 7.63 points. JKH became the highest contributor to the turnover while recording 2 crossings for the day at LKR 173 contributing a total of LKR 161.1 Mn to the market turnover. HNB, PLC and LLUB also recorded crossings for the day with total crossings representing 40% of the market turnover. Foreign investors turned to be net sellers with a net foreign outflow of LKR 5 Mn with today's net foreign selling mainly seen in LLUB. ASPI started the day at 7110 level, remained flat throughout the day and eventually closed operations at 7105 level. However despite the negative sentiment, gainers marginally surpassed losers 75 to 72.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 0.15%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 5 Mn.
