LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 8 July 2015

Focus: Main index continued to retain below 7000 level, reflecting the negative sentiment of the market. Index heavy counters (JKH, SLTL and HNB) led the decline while losers surpassed gainers 86 to 48. LMF became the highest contributor to the turnover and recorded two at LKR 155.30 while price of the counter closed at LKR 155 with a 0.06% price decline. Other crossings were recorded in CTC, CDB and SEYB while total crossings represented 39% of the turnover. Foreign investors were net sellers with foreign selling mainly witnessed in SEYB, JKH and HNB. Retail investor interest was witnessed in COCR, ELPL and VLL with prices appreciated by 1.61%, 4.27% and 4.55%.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was down by 0.66%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 3 Mn.
