LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 16 July 2015

Focus: Bourse closed on a positive note for the fifth straight session amid the uncertain political situation of the country. ASPI recorded a gain of 39 points with DIST, DFCC and COMB contributed 14.32 points to move the index up. Turnover recorded at LKR 833 Mn underpinned by several crossings took place pertaining to NTB, COMB and NEST while total crossings represented 30% of the market turnover. Retail investor interest was witnessed in JKH, CIC and TJL with prices appreciated by 0.55%, 4% and 1.40% to close at LKR 184.00, LKR 91.10 and LKR 28.90 respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers with net foreign selling mainly seen in HNB.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 1.02%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 39 Mn.
