Focus: ASPI and S&P SL20 recorded further gains to close the short week in green as investor sentiment built up ahead of the scheduled parliamentary election. Turnover recorded at LKR 1.7 Bn underpinned by several crossings took place pertaining to COMB, DIAL, LOFC and JKH. Today's total crossings represented 48% of the market turnover. Meanwhile DPL announced for a right issue of 90,307,178 shares in the proportion of five new shares to four ordinary shares at an offer price of LKR 8 per share. The funds will be utilized for plant modernization and to settle short term loans.

§ Bank Finance & Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 0.04%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 445 Mn.
