LOLC Securities Market Watch: Daily 9 July 2015

Focus: Market closed on a positive note following three consecutive days of losses while main index closed 24 points higher at 6947 led by positive price movement in index heavy counters such as JKH and HNB. Turnover stood at LKR 1.03 Bn underpinned by several crossings took place in DIAL, HHL, NDB , JKH and SEYB. Retail investor interest was witnessed in COMB, ALHP and TJL with prices appreciated by 0.75%, 6.00% and 1.09% to close at LKR 162.00, LKR 5.30, LKR 27.90 .Meanwhile ASIR announced that its subsidiary Asiri Hospital Limited completed the sale and transfer of land and premises owned by them in Colombo 07 for a consideration of LKR 2.7 Bn.

§ Telecommunications sector contributed mostly to the market turnover while the sector index was up by 1.18%.

§ Foreign investors were in a selling sentiment, while the net foreign outflows amounted to LKR 578 Mn.
